DAY TOURS

 

Managua City Tour (Half day)
We will tour the old center of Managua, Historical Center of the capital, Rubén Darío National Theater, El Malecón, John Paul II Plaza, the Old Cathedral, the National Palace of Culture and La Paz Park. Visit the Huellas de Acahualinca Museum, its footprints origin goes back to more than 10.000 years, as a result of a volcanic eruption.  Also visit the Tiscapa National Park among other points of special interest.

Masaya Volcano & Crafts Market (Half day)
Visit Masaya Volcano National Park, visitors information center, Oviedo Plaza located a few steps from the edge of the active Santiago crater. Furthermore we will go towards the city of Masaya or city of flowers, cradle of the Nicaraguan folklore; here we will visit the most complete crafts market of the country, time for shopping.

Colonial Granada & Islets (Half day)
Granada is characterized for being the oldest colonial city of America on firm land that still remains in its original foundation site. Its admirable architecture is from the eighteenth century. its main attractions are The Central Park, its colonial structures, museums, its history, its churches, a boat trip through the islets, among others.

Mombacho Volcano (Half day)
The Mombacho Volcano Natural Reserve is now a protected area covered with exuberant and flourishing wild life. Within its lushy forest we will find orchids, bromeliads, lichens, ferns and others. During the trail walk, we will observe the volcano fumaroles and an impressive view.
 

León and hervideros of San Jacinto (full day)
Visit the ruins of Leon Viejo; this city was declared World Heritage by UNESCO. It is here where the rests of Francisco Hernández de Córdoba and its adversary, Pedrarias Dávila, were found. Afterwards we are going towards the present colonial city of León; we will tour its main streets and visit its churches.  We will also visit the San Jacinto steaming craters, on the base of Santa Clara volcano.

White Towns (full day)
To the south from the capital we find what we call the White Towns. Diriá, Diriomo, San Juan de Oriente, Catarina, Niquinohomo, Masatepe, San Marcos, Jinotepe and Diriamba are the so called White Towns. These small towns are known for their white adobe constructions and its settlers for producing the most colorful and varied crafts of the country, using different materials like mud, wood and bamboo.

Sailing the Pacific
From San Juan del Sur Bay (two hours from Managua) you will sail aboard the leisure boat “Pelican Eyes”. Drinks and appetizers will be served during your hour and a half journey. We will anchor inside a beautiful cove with small white sandy beach. Enjoy this secluded paradise where you can relax. In the afternoon you will return to the port.

Tour del Tabaco (Estelí)
We start our journey in the morning towards Esteli, where we will learn about the war in recent nicaraguan history and also admire the crafts in Limay stone, which is native from this area. It is indeed in Esteli, where an important company has been producing Habano cigars for the last thirty years. These are cultivated with the original seed brought from Cuba. We will acknowledge the process of elaboration, packing and storage. The lunch is included in a local restaurant.

Coffee Tour (Carazo)
Located in the Carazo Department and just 40 minutes from Managua, we find La Concepción old coffee farm, where we will have the opportunity to walk through the plantation and learn about the cultivating and harvest process of this important gold grain. Next we will taste the traditional coffee of the property accompanied by a fresh home-towner dessert.

Cerro Negro Volcano Tour (León)
We will depart León early in the morning towards Cerro Negro Volcano. It is an exciting experience that we will take us to the highest part of the volcano, which is covered with rocks and black sand. This volcano is one of the youngest and smallest in Nicaragua.  The volcanic material permits to descend using sand boards, sky or bicycle; this was demonstrated by the French Eric Barone, who earned the world record in speed when descending from the volcano in a mountain bike.
